Learning Objectives

This three-day program is designed to ensure that first responders, managers, supervisors, or other personnel are trained in how to conduct a proper accident investigation. The curriculum covers securing the scene, interviewing witnesses, photographing the scene, writing the report, and finding the root causes of the accident.

Who Should Attend

This program teaches the basic step-by-step procedure for approaching the scene and performing the investigation. Upon completion, participants will be able to: Explain what an accident/incident is, including their frequency and cost. Recognize and execute the initial response to the scene. Apply guidelines for effective interviewing. Collect evidence using the four P's: People, Parts, Position, and Paper. Participate in a mock accident/incident investigation. Complete the appropriate information in an accident/investigation report.
